Herzog Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking an Assistant Technical Project Manager in Fort Worth, Texas to join our team. The Assistant Technical Project Manager will play a key role in coordinating and managing efforts with various departments to ensure compliance to the PTC Configuration Management Plan and other Standard Operating Procedures as defined by the Agency. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the orderly management of system information and changes to the PTC system
  • Ensure all applications, systems and designs are of proper design configuration and remain under constant change and version control
  • Follows processes to ensure change management activities including identification, recording, description, analysis and implementation
  • Follows and/or defines naming conventions, document attributes, Baseline Audit Checklists
  • Participate and lead the Change Control Board meetings, reviewing, documenting, distributing action items, tracking and approvals in adherence with CCB processes and procedures.
  • Update and/or maintain documentation for inclusion into various Operations Manuals, Operating Procedures, Training manuals on the processes and applications used by the department to support configuration management.
  • Attend internal and stakeholder meetings as needed.
  • Participate in policies, procedures, and workflows for change and configuration management; and create/update/support baseline sets of configurable items for the PTC System
  • Defines problem resolution activities including identification, recording, description and classification
  • Responsible to ensure proper change control and configuration approval processes are followed. 
  • Responsible for maintaining all documentation as outlined in the PTC Safety Plan for Operations and Maintenance for installation, maintenance, repair, modification, inspection and testing of the system
  • Produce reports to communicate progress, action status, non-conformance, completion and discrepancies
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Good knowledge of configuration management tools and principles.
  • Knowledge of change or configuration management techniques and processes with a wide range of configuration-controlled items.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must be competent in using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communications.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the Railroad industry in an Operational, Maintenance or Construction capacity is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and prioritize
  • Ability to interact in a team environment with users, management, consultants, and railroads.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
