Herzog is currently seeking a Back Office Supervisor in Rancho Cucamonga, California to join our team.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

  • Supervises activities and performance of the back office and employees with implementing PTC, CAD, NMS, hardware and other related train control applications and user interfacing functions of the train control network.
  • Provides support to the day-to-day activities of the back office and operating best practices to deliver services that enhance and support the overall on time performance.
  • Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, consultants, and other technology resources within the organization
  • Continually assess the condition of back office personal and processes including  hardware and software located at the DOC/MOC, to assure it is maintained in a state of good repair, in compliance with established configuration management standards and current with railroad industry requirements
  • Dispatch operation experience is preferred
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Networking or equivalent work experience in Networking/Technology related position preferred.
  • TMDS experience preferred
  • PTC experience preferred
  • Dispatch operation experience is preferred
  • Experience in a leadership role required – scheduling, discipline, and guided employee training
  • Valid driver's license required
  • High level of understanding of railroad field, dispatching operations and safety is essential
  • Ability to assist Network Specialists in understanding CAD Drawings and other job related duties
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – in response to employees, customer/customer management, and signal design teams.
  • Ability to react quickly and efficiently to ever changing, face paced environments
  • Must have strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment
  • Excellent problem solving, planning, and organization skills

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
  • Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
  • Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
  • Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals.
  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
