Herzog Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Systems Administrator in Fort Worth, TX. The Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

  • Infrastructure Operations and Production Support of container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker UCP and Kubernetes)
  • Docker/Kubernetes deployment, configuration, scaling and management of containerized applications.
  • Openshift Enterprise implementation and Support
  • Working with tools surrounding the Kubernetes
  • Working with configuration management tools (Ex. Ansible)
  • Exceptional technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills and possess an ability to explain technical concepts and provide guidance to staff.
  • Proficient to expert scripting and automation skills converting manual and maintenance functions into fully orchestrated automation.
  • Excellent system security awareness and knowledge in OS hardening.
  • Ability to operate in complex, highly secure, and highly available, operations environments and interact with the technology domain experts required to maintain those environments
  • Coaching other members of the support team, sharing technical and customer knowledge in a helpful and timely fashion.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CIS or MIS or related technical fields preferred or comparable experience.
  • 5 years of total experience with at least 3 years hands-on experience with containers in Production Environments - Docker, Openshift, Kubernetes preferred
  • 2 years of Scripting experience (Shell, Python) and Systems Administration skills
  • Ability to grasp and discuss technical details, and the effects of technical decisions.
  • Ability to set goals and objectives, prioritize, and manage situations to satisfactory completion
  • Experience supporting a 24x7 Operational environment, requiring shift support
  • Be scheduled On-Call to support the infrastructure and our systems

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
