Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Manager of Accounting in Melbourne, FL.  The successful candidate will be expected to manage accounting processes and assist with the day to day activities to ensure the project runs smoothly in every measurable way.  You will be constantly challenged to think analytically, and to further develop your organizational and administrative skills.  This candidate will need to be disciplined, focused, and should be able to demonstrate proven success in the capacity of time management.  Morning people and self-starter characteristics are a must.


Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

  • Support the management team in a variety of functions.
  • Assist with onboarding of new hires
  • Complete forms in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain scheduling and event calendars.
  • Attend various meetings and maintain accurate meeting minutes to be distributed as necessary
  • Communication management (internal communications and announcements, document editing for accuracy and clarity, presentation edits, and internal & external email communications)
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for field and office personnel.
  • Independent problem solving complex administrative issues business-wide
  • General data entry and record keeping (i.e. PTO Requests, Employee Warning notices, Termination paperwork, etc.)
  • Coordinate general office activities (i.e. office equipment repairs, cleaning services, document shredding, pest control, etc.)
  • Manage processing and payment of vendor invoices
  • Audit and process employee expense reports
  • Manage payroll processing
  • Management of subcontract agreements and change orders with accounting system
  • Processing of cost transfers (both job and general ledger)
  • Job cost maintenance within accounting program
  • Ensure that both sales and payroll taxes are being paid and submitted timely
  • Post monthly contract billings and payments
  • Minimal travel required
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Business/Accounting degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Cloud based storage applications (i.e. Box, Dropbox)
  • Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analytical/research skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to multi-task and shuffle priorities as workload requires
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information
  • Must be able to get along and build/maintain relationships with coworkers, superiors, customers, etc.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Positive attitude and motivational skills
