Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Stations Field Engineer in Dallas, TX to work on the DART Silverline Commuter Rail Design/Build.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Subcontractor management with numerous trades.  i.e. concrete flatwork, station canopies, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, elevators, stair towers, pavers, signage, etc.
  • Safety inspections of subcontractors
  • General project documentation, including submittals, work plans, RFI’s
  • Cost tracking & forecasting
  • Value Engineering
  • Assist with Owner change order requests & monthly progress billings
  • Provide schedule update information to project scheduler.
  • Verifying subcontractor quantities; processing subcontractor pay applications
  • Quality focused
  • Work closely with document control and field personnel to ensure they have latest drawings and installation documents.
  • Update drawings with redlines of as-built information
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Construction Engineering; 2-5 years Construction experience preferred – Transit, Heavy Civil, and/or Commercial
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management. Equivalent work experience in a construction related position preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • AutoCAD skills a plus.  Will provide training as needed.
  • Construction management course work or internship experience a plus
  • Must be flexible in working in both office and field environment as needed.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Must have strong organization skills
  • Must be highly motivated

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
