Provo Stevedoring is currently seeking an Equipment Manager in Turks & Caicos Islands.   The Equipment Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the operations of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs and equipment utilization.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage procedures, preventative maintenance and major repairs on equipment, cranes, ground engaging equipment, hoists, trucks, and small engine equipment.
  • Order parts, small tools, power tools and maintain an inventory list.
  • Manage the coordination of scheduled maintenance, inspections and repairs of major equipment.
  • Enforce company safety regulations as it relates to all equipment. Perform weekly and monthly housekeeping verification and safety reviews of yard property.
  • Act as a resource to management in regard to equipment needs and support
  • Supervise equipment department personnel to include management of workload, assignments and repairs
  • Coordinate all training related activity regarding equipment
  • Work with vendors to identify cost savings for parts and maintenance
  • Written and verbal communication with upper management on a daily basis
  • Work closely with administrative staff and oversee all purchases orders for maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • 5 years of recent experience in managing and maintaining equipment.
  • Experience in port handling equipment a plus.
  • Strong crane, stacker, and container handler mechanical experience a plus.
  • General computer skills
  • Travel to Caribbean required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bilingual a plus


Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.

  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
